In true start-up form, MyPeople are still only in the early stages of our journey and as we build our brand, it’s important to us that everyone in the team feels appreciated, and knows they are making a difference to grow and strengthen our vision.
Having Fun together is vital when it comes to building our team culture. This takes many forms – whether it be amusing ourselves with collective team nicknames like ‘Jendy’ or ‘Timilo’ or our nonsensical discussions before each morning meeting. It is essential that the working environment we create is fun, friendly, open, and where people are made to feel valued and want to be. There’s no one-size-fits-all style of fun, but each day presents us with a new opportunity to build memories together, and bring happiness to ourselves, the team and, ultimately, our customers.
Communication is key for us at MyPeople, especially when we aren’t always in the same location. Talking to one another and being honest about how we are all coping with tasks can bring any issues to light and encourages us to face them – whilst simultaneously measuring our own metrics to assess the mental and emotional health of everyone in the team.

MyPeople was formed by the network of analytics teams that supported GB Cycling, GB Rowing, England Rugby, the British & Irish Lions, Leicester City F.C. and the Philadelphia 76ers.
Our sports analysis heritage has played an integral role in how MyPeople has evolved. A sporting teams’ culture is central to its performance, as well as inspiring collective groups. In addition to this, sporting organisations have led the way in people data, and they use this data to inform their decisions – whether it be selection, development or performance.

The MyPeople journey has been driven by unmistakable injustices witnessed throughout business. We wanted to enable fairness in the workplace and join people together, creating better work environments, helping leaders inspire people and encourage organisations to build teams, not superstars.
